Presented here is a baseball jersey from Camp Lejeune, a Marine Corps base located in Jacksonville, North Carolina. This jersey dates from the World War II era, when it was common for military bases to field baseball teams, often featuring Major League players who had been drafted into military service. This toned white flannel jersey has “LEJEUNE MARINES” sewn across the chest in red felt. The front and sleeves of this button-down jersey features red piping. “CRONK” is written on the back inside tail of the jersey in black marker. A Wilson size “38” tag is sewn on the back inside collar. “14” is sewn on the back of this jersey in red felt. Also included in this lot are the Camp Lejeune flannel baseball pants. A size “32” Players Uniform Co. tag is sewn on the back inside of the waistband. Red piping accents the sides of the legs on this pair of baseball pants. This uniform is a truly exciting find for any baseball fan!
