Hall of Fame starting pitcher Pedro Martinez wore this jersey during his first season with the New York Mets in 2005. Martinez made his first National League All-Star team since 1997 this season, finishing the campaign with a record of 15-8 and an ERA of 2.82. Martinez would play three more seasons with the Mets, retiring after appearing in the 2009 World Series as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies. Martinez, a three-time Cy Young Award winner, was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015.

This button down pinstriped home jersey has “Mets” and Martinez’s number “45” sewn on the chest in blue, orange, and black tackle twill. “MARTINEZ” and a second “45” are sewn on the back in blue, orange, and black tackle twill. A blue and orange MLB logo patch is sewn on the back outside collar, and a Mets skyline logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve. A Majestic tag with attached “Set 2 2005”, “+2[inch] Body”, and size “46” tags is sewn on the front inside tail. This jersey shows light wear, and features Martinez’s “trademark gussets in the armpits” according to noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema, who has provided an LOA for this jersey.
