New York Mets first baseman Keith Hernandez wore this gray road jersey during the 1988 National League Championship Series. Hernandez, a former National League MVP, played in all seven games in the NLCS against the Dodgers. Although the Mets fell in a heartbreaking Game 7, Hernandez finished the series with a .269 average, five RBI, six walks, and a home run. Hernandez had his best game of the series in Game 2, when he went 2-3 with three RBI and a run scored in Chavez Ravine. The Mets played Games 1, 2, 6, and 7 on the road, while the intermittent Games 3, 4, and 5 were played in the friendly confines of Shea Stadium.

This gray, pullover road jersey has “NEW YORK” sewn across the chest in blue, orange, and white tackle twill. “HERNANDEZ” and his number “17” are sewn on the back of the jersey in blue, orange, and white tackle twill. The sleeves and sides of this jersey are accented with a blue, orange, and white stripe. A white Rawlings wordmark is sewn on the right sleeve. A Rawlings size “44” and a “P.O. 88 17 2” tags are sewn on the front inside tail of the jersey. A “SET 2 1988” flag is attached to the Rawlings tag. This jersey shows light wear, and comes with a LOA from MEARS, who have graded the jersey a perfect A10.
