The Minnesota Vikings defensive line of the late 1960’s and early 1970’s was known as the “Purple People Eaters”, and was one of the most fearsome defensive fronts of any era in NFL history. Led by the Hall of Famers Carl Eller and Alan Page, as well as Jim Marshall and Gary Larsen, the Vikings appeared in Super Bowls VIII, IX, and XI. The first two items in this lot are commemorative Vikings footballs signed by Eller, Page, Marshall, and Larsen in black marker. These two footballs come with COAs from JSA (W751955 and W751962). The next two items are two Minnesota Vikings purple mini-helmets signed in silver marker by Page. These helmets come with COAs from JSA (S78906, S78907).

The final two items are commemorative Purple People Eaters Vikings home jerseys. The numbers of the four players, “70”, “77”, “81”, and “88”, are sewn on the front and back of these jerseys in white tackle twill. “PURPLE PEOPLE EATERS” is sewn across the back shoulders in white tackle twill on a matching purple nameplate. Each player (Larsen, Page, Marshall, and Eller) has signed their number on the back of these jerseys in black marker. These items come with a COA from JSA (S78864, S78866).
