Presented here is a collection of items worn by San Diego Padres legend Tony Gwynn circa 1996-97. Gwynn, a member of the 3,000 Hit Club and an eight-time National League batting champ, won batting titles in both 1996 and 1997. Gwynn hit .353 in 1996, and in 1997 improved that number to .372 while reaching new career highs in home runs (19) and RBI (119). Gwynn retired after the 2001 season, and he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007.

The offered undershirt is gray and navy blue. “Padres” and an orange MLB logo are sewn on the collar, while a Majestic logo is sewn on the left arm. Gwynn’s number “19” is written on the back of the shirt in black marker. This shirt shows light wear, and comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema. The batting gloves navy blue, white, and gray Franklin gloves. Gwynn’s number “19”, which has been retired by the Padres, is printed on the wrists in white digits. Gwynn has signed each glove in blue marker, however his signature exhibits bleeding. The gloves come with a LOA from Alicia Gwynn.
