Presented here are road and home New York Mets jerseys worn by Lenny Dykstra during the 1989 season. Dykstra, a member of the Mets 1986 World Series winning team, played in 56 games for the Mets in 1989 before the Mets traded him, Roger McDowell, and a Player-To-Be-Named-Later to the Phillies for Juan Samuel.
The home jersey is a white, pinstriped pullover with “Mets” sewn across the chest in blue and orange tackle twill. Dykstra’s number “4” is sewn on the chest and back in blue and orange tackle twill. “DYKSTRA” is sewn on the back in blue and orange tackle twill. Rawlings size “42”, “T”, and “4” tags are sewn on the front inside tail of the jersey. A “Set 1 1989” flag is attached to the “4” tag. This jersey shows light to moderate wear.
The road jersey is a gray pullover, with “NEW YORK” sewn across the chest in blue, orange, and white tackle twill. “DYKSTRA” and his number “4” are sewn on the back of the jersey in blue, orange, and white tackle twill. Rawlings size “42”, “T”, and “4” tags are sewn on the front inside tail of the jersey. A “Set 1 1989” flag is attached to the “4” tag. This jersey shows light to moderate wear. Both of these jerseys come with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
