This is an incredibly rare sheet segment (measuring approximately 17" x 14") containing the obverse images of twenty full "Horrors of War" cards, plus sixteen partial cards and an additional uncut strip (nearly 11" x 4") which contains nearly three full cards and seven partial cards. The illustrations from this arrangement hail from the "Low Numbers" series. Production artifacts from vintage card series, such as this 1938 Gum, Incorporated issue, almost never reach the hobby market. This unique item made it through the printing process only as far as the black ink, basic outline stage and the addition of yellow ink. Vivid colors, for which the set is famous, are absent, and the backs contain text. Border faults, irregular edge cuts and condition issues affecting the outer cards are to be expected, however, the inner cards present in high-grade. Overall display quality is about EX. Truly eye-catching pieces from a classic non-sport issue!
