Presented here is a uniform worn by Lee Smith during his tenure as a pitching instructor and roving minor league coach for the San Francisco Giants. Smith, MLB’s former all-time leader in saves, has enjoyed a long and successful coaching career since his retirement in the late 1990s, including a stint as the pitching coach for the South Africa team at the 2006 World Baseball Classic.

This uniform set includes a jersey, pants, and a hat. The jersey is a white, button down home jersey with “GIANTS” sewn across the chest in black, orange, and gold tackle twill. Smith’s number “62” is sewn on the back of the jersey in similarly colored tackle twill below a black and orange MLB logo. This jersey has orange and black accents, as well as a circular Giants patch sewn on the left sleeve above a Majestic logo. A Majestic size “52” tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey near a “Cool Base” flag. Smith signed the “6” digit in silver marker, adding the inscription “Game Used” to his signature.

Also offered in this lot are Smith’s home pants. These white pants have an orange and black stripe running down the legs. The inside has a “47 42-46 34” tag with “SMITH” handwritten in black marker sewn on the back inside of the waistband. Please note that the fastener for the top button of the pants is missing. The final item in this lot is an orange and black batting practice Giants cap signed on the brim in black marker by Smith. This entire lot comes with a LOA from Lee Smith.
