Presented is a 4-card vertical strip of 1933 V353 World Wide Gum (Canadian Goudey) "Big League" Chewing Gum cards. The Canadian Goudey set is similar to the American version, the classic 1933 Goudey Gum set, the most important gum card set within the hobby. The backs of the cards of this sheet are virtually identical to the backs of the American series with the primary difference being the cards have World Wide Gum, LTD and the Printed in Canada trademarks. The fronts are exactly the same as the 1933 Goudey’s. This sheet is unusual as it is vertical, each card residing on top of the next one. It measures 2 3/8 x 11 1/2 inches and includes four cards, highlighted by the No. 1 card, Benny Bengough and #47, Hall-of-Famer Heinie Manush. The colors are bright but there is a small amount of discoloration along the left edge. There are crease running through the top two cards, mostly in the upper left corner of Bengough and through the hat of the cad below, #26 Chalmer Cissell. The Manush card displays a horizontal wrinkle on the reverse, while #34 Bud Clancy has a very small front wrinkle just above the advertising plate. Goudey sheets and strips are extremely rare as much of their excess inventory and production materials were thrown out in the 1960s. These Canadian strips and sheets are even scarcer than their American counterparts. This is a great opportunity to obtain a rare Goudey collectible, a 4-card strip which contains a Hall of Famer and the difficult first card within the series.
