Cincinnati Reds touted prospect Luis Castillo wore this special Independence Day home jersey during the Reds July 1st and 2nd, 2017 games. Although Castillo did not appear in these two games, the Reds won the first 5-3 against the Cubs and lost the second 6-2. Castillo made 15 starts in 2017, his rookie season, winning three games and maintaining an excellent 3.12 ERA.
This white, button down, home jersey has a stars-and-stripes themed Reds logo patch sewn on the left chest, and Castillo’s number “58” sewn on the left chest in red and black tackle twill with a star-and-stripes themed pattern. “CASTILLO” is sewn across the back of the jersey in navy blue tackle twill. His number “58” is sewn below in red and navy blue tackle twill with a stars-and-stripes themed pattern. A vinyl, stars-and-stripes themed MLB logo is applied to the back outside collar of the jersey. A Mr. Redlegs patch is sewn on the left sleeve, and an American flag patch is sewn on the right. Red piping accents the chest, collar, and sleeve openings of this jersey. The sides and back tail of this jersey are made of white mesh. A Majestic size “46” tag is applied to the front left tail of the jersey. This item comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (JB 858440), which dates this jersey to the July 1st and 2nd contests.
