Presented here is a tremendous 16 x 20 black and white photograph of baseball’s three immortal legends – Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle and Ted Williams. This photograph was taken in 1951 in what appears to be before a night game as evidence by the American League Golden Anniversary patch (1901-1951) that can partially be seen on Williams and DiMaggio’s left sleeve (Mantle’s left sleeve is covered). The three legends are standing shoulder-to-shoulder holding their bats over their shoulders. DiMaggio and Mantle are dressed in their home white Yankee pinstripes, while Williams is adorned in his gray Red Sox uniform. All three are looking off-camera to their right with the backstop in the background. Each Hall of Famer has signed his name in blue marker over his image on the uniform pants, with DiMaggio inscribing “5”, Mantle inscribing “No.7” and Williams inscribing “#9”. Based on the size of the photo and the fact that each inscribed their own numbers, we believe this is one of the rarest modern photos in existence. The photograph is in near-perfect condition and is ready to be framed, making it a potentially great display piece with three of the greatest players to ever play the game.
