Jimmie Foxx was one of the most prodigious sluggers in the Pre-WWII era of baseball, becoming only the second man in history to reach the 500 home run mark. A first baseman, Foxx made his debut with the Philadelphia Athletics when he was still a junior in high school and after 11 years in Philadelphia, he spent the next seven years with the Boston Red Sox. Foxx ended his career as a pitcher with the Philadelphia Phillies, starting two games and compiling a 1.59 ERA and 1-0 record over 22 2/3 innings pitched. Offered here is a 3 x 4 ½ inch cut signed by the great Jimmie Foxx. Foxx’s signature presents beautifully in dark blue pen.
