A member of the St. Louis Cardinals Gashouse Gang team of 1934, Hall of Famer Dizzy Dean is a beloved figure in St. Louis Cardinals lore. In 1934, Dean won 30 games and the National League MVP award while leading the Cardinals to a World Series championship. He was the last National League pitcher to reach the 30-game mark, signifying the end of the workhorse pitcher era.

Offered here is a 3 ½ x 7 ½ inch cut that Dizzy Dean boldly signed in black pen. There is an inscription above his name that was written in pencil in an unknown hand. The inscription reads “June 7-1938 Signed especially for Donna Henderson Storch”. The paper displays toning, along with edge and corner wear. There is a fold in the center that hits a small part of the “n” in “Dean”, but does not affect the quality of this signature. Where the fold ends at the top and bottom of this paper are small indentations. On the top of the paper on the top edge, there is an approximately ¾-inch x 3-millimeter deep chip. There are small spots on the front and back, but do not affect Dean’ signature. This signed cut by Dizzy Dean comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A89200).
