Ron Hunt joined the New York Mets in 1963, instantly becoming one of the best players of the young franchise. Hunt finished second in the National League Rookie of the Year vote, behind only Pete Rose, and became the Mets first ever All-Star Game starter in 1964. Hunt played four seasons for the Mets, making two All-Star teams, before departing for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1967. Hunt wore this flannel Mets Mitchell & Ness home jersey on September 28th, 2008, during a pre-game ceremony before the final game at Shea Stadium. This jersey has “Mets” and Hunt’s number “33” sewn on the chest in blue felt over orange tackle twill, and a second “33” sewn on the back of the jersey in similar fashion. “Final Game Shea Stadium” is embroidered in blue on the front right tail of the jersey. Hunt has signed the right chest of this jersey in blue marker. This item comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (BB 767712).
