Ageless wonder Julio Franco wore this New York Mets road jersey during Game 3 of the 2006 NLDS against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Franco’s Mets swept this series, capping off the NLDS with a 9-5 victory at Dodger Stadium in Game 3. Franco appeared with two outs the ninth inning, pinch hitting for Aaron Heilman. Takashi Saito struck out Franco, the last Mets batter in this series. Franco, despite playing 2006 at the age of 47, finished the season with a healthy .276 batting average, two home runs, and 26 RBI as the Mets primary pinch hitter.

This gray, button down road jersey has “NEW YORK” sewn across the chest in blue, orange, and black tackle twill. Franco’s number “23” is sewn on the chest and back of this jersey in blue, orange, and black tackle twill. “FRANCO” is sewn across the back shoulders in blue, orange, and black tackle twill. A circular Mets skyline logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve, while a MLB logo patch is sewn on the back outside collar. Blue piping accents the front of the jersey and the sleeves, and a Velcro patch is attached between the second and third buttons. A Majestic tag with attached size “50” and “Set E 2006” flags is sewn on the front left inside tail of the jersey. This item comes with a LOA from Mets-Steiner Collectibles.
