New York Mets players Paul Lo Duca and Jose Valentin wore these black road alternate jerseys during the Mets 9-4 loss to the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. Lo Duca, hitting out of the second spot in the batting order and playing catcher, finished 2-5 with a run scored. Valentin did not appear in this game. The Mets would go on to reach the National League Championship Series this season, coming within a vicious Adam Wainwright curveball of the World series.
The Paul Lo Duca jersey is a black, button down jersey with “NEW YORK” sewn across the chest in blue, white, and orange tackle twill. Lo Duca’s number “16” is sewn on the front and back of the jersey in blue, white, and orange tackle twill. “Lo DUCA” is sewn across the back shoulders in blue, white, and orange tackle twill beneath a blue and orange MLB logo patch.
