Former New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Keith Hernandez used this “HOH”-CMH C model first baseman’s glove during his time with the New York Mets. Hernandez, the 1979 National League Co-MVP, joined the Mets in a June 1983 trade that saw Neil Allen and Rick Ownbey head west from the Mets. The five-time All-Star helped lead the Mets to the 1986 World Series title, driving in three runs during the Mets decisive Game 7 victory. Hernandez played with the Mets through 1989 before spending the 1990 season, his final in the major leagues, with the Cleveland Indians.
This first baseman’s glove is left-handed. It features a Rawlings wordmark sewn on the wrist strap in red, and a circular Rawlings logo on the back of the thumb. Hernandez’s number “17” is written on the thumb and on the pinky in black marker. Hernandez has signed the palm side of the pinky slot in black marker. This glove shows excellent use, and comes with a LOA from Keith Hernandez and a LOA from JSA that authenticates Hernadez’s signature on the Hernandez LOA.
