Presented is a 1939 First Day Cover “Commemorating 100th Anniversary of Baseball” and signed by one of the original five Hall of Famers, the great Honus Wagner. This envelope is appropriately affixed with a “Centennial of Baseball” three-cent stamp, and was cancelled on June 12, 1939, the date the Hall of Fame was dedicated. On the left Wagner's image appears at the center of a raised silver foil design and mini biography, and his bold, blue fountain pen “Honus Wagner Pirates” signature resides just to the right. The signature grades a (“10”) and remains as strong as it was the day the Pirates HOFer applied it. Just to the right is the Centennial insignia design. Wagner’s signature has been authenticated by PSA/DNA and is housed in the company’s protective case. The signature is graded by PSA/DNA as GEM MINT 10.
