Jimmie Foxx was nicknamed “The Beast” and he was unleashed on the American League for almost two decades. He hit mammoth home runs, and screaming line drives. It has been said third basemen told their pitchers to pitch the right hand hitting Foxx outside, while the first basemen told the pitchers to pitch Foxx inside. Either way, the pitcher was actually closer than either corner infielder! This Government Postcard has been signed on the presentation side “Jimmie Foxx Boston Red Sox” very boldly in blue ink. The postal side has the addressee name, and is date stamped Jan. 12, 1939 from Philadelphia. The 1939 season was another dominant one for Double X, as he clubbed 35 home runs, drove in 105, while hitting .360. He came in second in the MVP that season to some guy named DiMaggio. This Jimmie Foxx signed postcard has been authenticated by PSA/DNA and is housed in the company’s protective holder. Graded by PSA/DNA GEM MINT 10.
