Hall of Fame ace Gaylord Perry wore this home Seattle Mariners’ jersey during the 1982 MLB season, his first with the ballclub. At the advanced age of 43, Perry won 10 games for the Mariners, including his 300th career win on May 6th. Pitching at the Kingdome, Perry tossed a complete game during the Mariners 7-3 victory against the visiting New York Yankees. Perry pitched for one final season, finishing his 22-season career with 314 victories and five All-Star appearances. The first man to win Cy Young awards in both the American and National Leagues, Perry was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991.

This white, pullover home jersey has “MARINERS” sewn across the chest in blue and yellow tackle twill. Perry’s number “36” is sewn on the chest and back of the jersey in blue and yellow tackle twill. “PERRY” is sewn across the back shoulders in blue tackle twill over a matching white nameplate. A Rawlings size “46” tag with an attached “Set 1 1982” flag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. Perry has signed the chest in blue marker, inscribing “Game Used” beneath his signature. This jersey, which shows heavy use, comes with a LOA from Perry himself.
