Hall of Fame starting pitcher Pedro Martinez wore this glove in 2009, his final season in the Major Leagues. Martinez pitched with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2009, making nine starts and recording a 5-1 record with a 3.63 ERA. Martinez helped take the Phillies to their second straight World Series in 2009, although they would fall to Hideki Matsui and the Yankees in six games. Pedro retired after the 2009 season, and was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015 on his first ballot.
This Rawlings professional model 200-43B fielder’s glove was made for Martinez in 2007, although use has been attributed to the 2009 season. The brown leather glove displays excellent wear, and features a modified T-web basket. A Rawlings tag is sewn on the wrist strap, and a circular Rawlings logo is located on the back of the thumb. “Pedro Martinez”, and the names of his children “Jerito” and “Nayla” are embroidered in white on the back of the thumb. Martinez has signed this glove in silver marker. This item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00199) for the game use, and a PSA/DNA STICKER ONLY (5A48691) for the signature.
