Two years after winning the Cy Young Award in 1996, John Smoltz put together another award-worthy season. With a record of 17-3 in just 167.2 IP, Smoltz would tie with teammate Greg Maddux for 4th in the Cy Young voting that year.

Offered is this size 48 Wilson home white, button-down Atlanta Braves jersey that was worn by Smoltz during that 1998 season. “Braves” is scripted across the chest, underlined with a tomahawk, in red-on-navy blue tackle twill, with some gold stitching. Navy blue and red piping surround the collar and down both sides of the buttons and also wrap around the end of the sleeves. The back of the jersey has his name “SMOLTZ” across the back in blue tackle twill on a matching white nameplate, with his number “29” sewn on below in red and navy blue tackle twill. The lower front tail has the Wilson manufacturers tag with attached 48 size flag, with a small white strip tag below with the year “98” stitched in black thread. Smoltz has signed the back “2” in black marker. This jersey displays light to moderate use with some staining and comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema. There is also a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (C99755) for his signature.
