In 1973, George Steinbrenner bought the New York Yankees, bringing them back to relevance after the retirement of franchise cornerstone Mickey Mantle. Steinbrenner owned the Yankees for 37 years, with the Bronx Bombers winning seven World Series and 11 American League pennants during his tenure as owner. This Louisville Slugger C271 model bat has “Yankees” etched on the barrel, which Steinbrenner has signed in black marker. The handle of the bat is cracked. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (Z06556).
