In 2016, to celebrate his 2,000th MLB game, Miguel Cabrera slugged his 2,400th career hit. He finished out the season by hitting .316 with 38 home runs and his 7th Silver Slugger Award, tying him with Barry Bonds for the second most awards. Cabrera used this Original Maple Bat Co. model MC1 bat during the 2016 season and hit two home runs with this stick on May 20, 2016. These home runs were the 415th and 416th of Cabrera's career.

This bat is un-cracked and shows heavy game use. The barrel has many ball marks with stitch impressions and there are cleat imprints throughout. A thick coat of pine tar has been applied to the lower and upper handle to enhance the grip and his number “24” has been hand written on the knob and barrel ends in black marker. Best of all, this gamer has been photo-matched to a 2016 home game and the photo is included with this lot. Cabrera has signed the barrel in gold marker adding “2016 Game Used”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15249) for the game use, attributing this bat to career home runs 415 & 416, and has been graded a perfect GU 10, along with a MLB Authenticated hologram (JB845039) for the signature.
