Hall of Famer Willie Stargell’s baseball career speaks for itself. His 475 career home runs and lifetime .282 average earned him a spot in Cooperstown in 1988. In 1986, Stargell joined the Atlanta Braves’ as first base coach under manager Chuck Tanner, whom he played for when he was with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Stargell wore this Wilson size 48 home white Atlanta Braves pullover jersey during the 1986 season. This jersey features “Braves” sewn on in blue and white tackle twill with red border stitching. Stargell’s number “8” is sewn on the center left chest in the same material and pattern. The back of the jersey has “STARGELL” sewn on in blue tackle twill on a matching white name plate with the number “8” sewn on below in blue and white tackle twill with red border stitching. The collar and sleeve ends have a red, white and blue striping pattern made of a ribbed material. The Wilson tag is sewn on the inside back collar and an “86” patch is sewn on the lower front left tail. This jersey shows light use with small stains on the front and back. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
