Jessie Orosco’s pitching career spanned 24 seasons with nine different organizations. Orosco will best be remembered for his time with the New York Mets, when he anchored the bullpen for the 1986 World Championship squad, recording the last strikeout to seal the victory over the Boston Red Sox. Orosco’s career began with the Mets in 1979. The durable lefty was used almost exclusively as a reliever, with the exception of four starts, two of them coming in 1982.
This offered jersey was worn by Jesse Orosco during the 1982 season. This size 42 Rawlings pullover New York Mets home pinstripe jersey has two buttons at the top and features “Mets” sewn on across the front in blue and orange tackle twill. Orosco’s number “47” is sewn on in blue and orange tackle twill on the left center chest and on the back of the jersey. Also on the back of the jersey is “OROSCO”, which is sewn on in blue and orange tackle twill on a white nameplate. The collar and sleeve ends have a blue/orange/blue striping pattern in a ribbed material and the Rawlings tag is sewn on the inside back collar. The team strip tag is sewn on below the Rawlings tag and reads “47 82 1”. The left sleeve has a black armband and does not have a Mets skyline logo patch, which were not placed on 1982 jerseys. This jersey displays moderate wear and displays toning giving it a cream color. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
