Beloved relief pitcher Tug McGraw wore this MacGregor KCX kangaroo hide baseball glove between 1969 and 1971. McGraw, pitching for the Mets during this time, helped lead the New York ballclub to their first ever World Series title in 1969, finishing that season with a 9-3 record, 12 saves, and a 2.24 ERA. In 1971, McGraw recorded a miniscule 1.70 ERA and an 11-4 record as he and Tom Seaver paced the Mets pitchers.

This left-handed fielder’s glove shows outstanding use, including a tear of the kangaroo hide in the pocket of the glove. The lacing on the top of the glove has been secured with tape. The glove is 12 ½ inches, and features a closed web glove. McGraw has signed the thumb slot in black marker, inscribing “Ya Gotta Believe” and “N.Y. Mets – ‘65” beneath his signature. “TUG 45” is written on the thumb in black marker as well. On the middle finger, McGraw has signed the glove a second time in fine-tipped black marker. “TUG” is written again on the pinky slot. This item comes with a LOA from JT Sports for the game use and a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (C99761) for the signatures.
