Presented in this lot is a signed replica Cal Ripken Jr. Baltimore Orioles jersey from the 2001 season. The legendary shortstop played his final MLB season in 2001, ending a career that saw him collected over 3,000 hits and 431 home runs. Ripken, baseball’s all-time leader in consecutive games started, played in his 19th All-Star Game in 2001, hitting a home run off Chan Ho Park and earning All-Star Game MVP honors. In 2007, Ripken was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on his first ballot, collecting 98.5% of the vote.

This button down, gray road jersey has “ORIOLES” sewn across the chest in orange and black tackle twill. Ripken’s number “8” is sewn on the chest and back in orange and black tackle twill. “RIPKEN” is sewn across the back shoulders in orange and black tackle twill beneath an American flag patch. An American League 100th Anniversary patch is sewn on the right sleeve, and an Orioles bird logo is sewn on the right. Ripken has signed the chest of this jersey in blue marker. This size “48” jersey comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (MT 00198946).
