A very important game used bat as it is one of the very last 12 Berra ordered before retiring as a player. The catcher had spent 18 years with the Yankees in which he was named AL MVP three times, played on 13 World Championship teams and was voted to the All-Star squad 18 times. All the while Berra solidified his place as one of New York’s most popular sports heroes. As such, it wasn’t a surprise that the fledgling New York Mets would want Berra on their team when his Yankees career ended. Yogi played 4 games for the Mets in 1965 before switching over to the role of coach, a position he held until 1972 when he was named manager. Yogi’s Hillerich & Bradsby B211 bat is uncracked and shows moderate use. Ball marks and stitch impressions can be seen in a few places along the barrel as well as blue and red bat rack marks. A very light coat of pine tar is evident on the handle. Best of all, the famous Yankee has signed the barrel and added “Good Luck”. There is evidence of an inscription removal above “Good Luck”. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
