Giving up 58 pounds to the 6-7 Heavyweight Champion Jess Willard, many didn't think Jack Dempsey had a shot to win this fight that took place in Toledo, Ohio. Coming out swinging right from the start, Dempsey fractured Williard's jaw early in the first round and never looked back. During the 1st round, referee Ollie Pecord raised Dempsey's hand as if the fight had been called and Dempsey left the ring. The time keeper than determined that Willard was saved by the bell and Dempsey rushed back to the ring to continue the fight and avoid a forfeit. Dempsey then continued to pummel Willard and the bout was called in the 3rd round. Dempsey went on to become one of the best boxers ever to live and held on to this heavyweight championship for seven years. This extremely rare, unused ticket has been slabbed by SGC and is in great shape for being almost 100 years old.
