After a 9-year career in Japan, Ichiro burst into the majors in 2001 with Seattle. This jersey is from Ichiro’s second season in the states when he proved he was the real thing by becoming the first player in the franchise’s history to post consecutive 200+ hit seasons. He was in the top 5 in the AL in hits, stolen bases and batting average and garnered the most votes in the All-Star Game balloting. The button down gray Mariners road jersey has “SEATTLE” arched across the front with "ICHIRO" across the back and his number "51" below. All are in navy on teal tackle twill, with the player name on a gray nameplate. Russell Athletic label is sewn to the bottom front tail with added tagging of “48”, “2" EXTRA LENGTH” and “2002”. The left sleeve features the special “25th Anniversary” patch and the right has the Mariners logo patch. Light game use visible and the jersey appears all original with no alterations. Certificate of Authenticity from Coast to Coast Sports which exclusively handled Ichiro autographs and game used items during the period.
