Babe Didrikson Zaharias was a peerless athlete, succeeding in any sport she attempted. Zaharias won two gold medals and a silver in athletics at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, setting numerous World Records in the process. Although Zaharias was a multi-sport star, golf was the game she truly excelled at. Under the tutelage of her husband George Zaharias, Babe won 10 LPGA major tournaments, including all three women’s major tournaments in 1950. She was named the greatest female athlete of the 20th century by the Associated Press, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest golfers of all time irrespective of gender. Zaharias used this wedge during the 1947 British Ladies Amateur Championship at Gullane Golf Club, becoming the first non-European woman to win the fabled event. The wedge is a 99 X-Ploder Berry Hicks model stainless steel golf club with a brown grip. It comes with a LOA from Zaharias’ former caddy Hal Shaw, the president and founder of The Babe and George Zaharias Golf Foundation.
