Philadelphia Phillies ace Curt Schilling wore this jersey during the 1998 MLB All-Star Game, held at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado. Schilling did not appear in this game, which finished 13-8 in favor of the American League. For the season, Schilling finished with a 15-14 record and a 3.25 ERA. He led the National League in strikeouts (300) and starts (35), while leading the Major Leagues in complete games (15) and innings pitched (268.2).
This button-down jersey is white with red pinstripes. “Phillies” is sewn across the chest in red chenille stitching over white tackle twill. A blue chenille stitched star dots each “I” in “Phillies”. Schilling’s number “38” is sewn on the left sleeve and back of the jersey in red and white tackle twill. A 1998 All-Star Game patch is sewn on the right sleeve above a red Russell Athletic “R” logo. “All Star Game / July 7, 1998 / Coors Field / Denver, CO” is embroidered in black on the front right tail, and a Russell Athletic size “50” tag with attached “2[inch] Extra Length” and “100% Polyester” flags is sewn on the front left tail. Schilling has signed the front right tail of this jersey in blue marker, inscribing “1998 All Star Game Used” beneath his signature. This item comes with a LOA from Curt Schilling for use and a LOA from JSA (Z76398) for the signature.
