Former MLB catcher and leftfielder Elston Howard also served as a first base coach for the New York Yankees from 1969 to 1979. Howard has the distinction of being the first African-American ballplayer who ever donned the Yankee pinstripes, playing for the team from 1955 to 1967. This item is Howard’s contract with the Yankees during the 1973 season when he made $20,000 with the team. It includes his signature in ballpoint blue ink, as well as that of AL President Joseph Cronin’s. The item comes with LOA from PSA/DNA.
