Baseball fans loves a great comeback story and in 2010 slugger Josh Hamilton gave it to them with both barrels. Once a promising prospect, Hamilton succumbed to drug and alcohol addiction that all but ended his career before it began. When he reemerged clean and sober five years later, baseball fans everywhere cheered him on. Hamilton responded with four incredible seasons that culminated with his 2010 MVP campaign. Hamilton led the AL in batting (.359) and slugging (.633) and took home the league MVP Award as he led the Rangers to their first ever World Series. This Louisville Slugger M9 bat was used by Hamilton during the July 25th, 2010 game against the Angels in which he broke the handle in the facing Francisco Rodriguez in the bottom of the fifth. The bat shows heavy game use with ball scuffs, ink transfers and cleat impressions on the barrel, not to mention the broken handle of which an 8” piece is missing. An extraordinary artifact from a triumphant season. MLB has authenticated the bat and affixed hologram sticker number FJ 181076 to the barrel. Comes with 3 photos of Hamilton using this bat during the July 25th, 2010 game. Letter of Authenticity from MLB.
