Presented here is a large, 36 x 40 inch original piece of Derek Jeter artwork by the noted sports artist Armando Villarreal. Villarreal, a rising star in the art world, created the official paintings for the Kansas City Royals 2015 World Series title and the San Francisco Giants 2014 World Series title. Additionally, Villarreal painted live at Muhammad Ali's 70th birthday party at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and at the 2016 MLB All-Star Game, held at Petco Park in San Diego. The Yankee captain is shown here at the plate in his home whites. A black Louisville Slugger P72 model bat is cocked over his right shoulder. Jeter, one of the best shortstops of the modern age, is a lock for the Hall of Fame when his name comes on the ballot in 2020. Jeter has signed this painting in silver marker, with his signature presenting beautifully against the dark background of the Yankee Stadium dugout.
