While one of the most popular autograph guests when he was alive, Joe DiMaggio was very difficult to deal with on most occasions. Most of the time he would only sign his name, and very often refused requests for add-ons, like “56 Game Hitting Streak”, plus his nicknames “The Yankee Clipper” and “Joltin’ Joe.” Well, on the day he signed this photograph, DiMaggio must have been in a great mood because he signed this 11” x14” photograph “’Joltin Joe’ Joe DiMaggio” very boldly in what appears to be a navy blue sharpie. The black and white photo reveals an early in his prime DiMaggio giving a half smile, eager to get back on the field, an image that is rarely seen in hobby circles. The photograph has been matted and framed to a dimension of approximately 16” x 20” and would make a beautiful display for any sports den or entertainment room. THis is the only authenticated inscription of "Joltin Joe" we have seen. Letter of authenticity provided by PSA/DNA.
