Offered is an extremely scarce 4-card collection of R146 Leader Novelty Candy Co. Inc. "Adventures of Superman" non-sports cards issued in 1940. Appearing as the perforated back panels of the company's small one-cent "candy and toy" boxes, these cards most often show damage from improper removal by overly anxious, small hands. Each of these approximately 2-3/8" x 2-7/8" cards were produced with either a logo or plain back, the latter are the more difficult examples and carry a premium. The all-"plain back", low-grade gallery includes: #'s 7 "Saving The Workman", 11 "The Toppling Smokestack" 18 "The Fight For Peace" and 19 "The Shattered Press."
