This is an incredible baseball signed by 24 members of the famous 1934 Goodwill Tour of Japan arranged by Major League Commissioner, Kenesaw Mountain Landis following the end of the 1934 baseball season. 24 members of that All-Star team signed this official Pacific Coast League Baseball in either black or blue ink. Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig, the great “Iron Horse,” signed across the Sweet Spot, while other notable HOFers signed it as well including Babe Ruth, Jimmie Foxx , Heinie Manush , Lefty Gomez. Of historical note, this is the tour in which Moe Berg, the famous catcher who was a spy; secretly filmed views of Japanese industrial complexes on behalf of the United States government. Berg was a linguistic prodigy and graduate of Princeton and Columbia who played 15 years in the Major Leagues. For his civilian service during WWII, including the arrangement for the capture of German scientists; Berg was awarded the Medal of Merit from the US government. Also includes Bing Miller, Rube Walberg, Luke Sewell, Doc Cramer, Lefty O'Doul, Clint Brown, Dutch Reuther, Bruce Campbell, Al Schacht(Clown Prince of baseball), and others. The signatures on the baseball are very strong, ranging from 6-10/10 with the Jimmie Foxx, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig being among the strongest. Full LOA from PSA/DNA
