Presented is a very large almost 800 page coffee table style book, a complete encyclopedia of Philadelphia Phillies players. This book has been signed mostly in ink (but a few Sharpie) by 85 former players, mostly Phillies players, including 15 Hall of Famers. The Philadelphia franchise is currently playing in their 131st consecutive baseball season, one year behind both the Cincinnati and St. Louis franchises. This book is signed by 75 of those former Phillies players, some of the greats and many from the second division clubs. Most of the signatures are from players of the 1950s thru the 1980s with plenty from those Championship teams. Notable names such as Tug McGraw, Larry Bowa, Bob Boone, Lenny Dykstra, John Kruk, Darren Daulton, Richie Ashburn, Steve Carlton, Mike Schmidt, Garry Maddox, Garry Matthews, Dick Allen, Johnny Callison, Mitch Williams, Curt Simmons, Tom Hutton, Jim Bunning, Greg Luzinski, Robin Roberts, Pete Rose and Terry Mulholland are interspersed with Andy Seminick, Ruben Amaro, Del Ennis, Jack Baldschun, Dick Hall, Mike Ryan, Art Mahaffey and Pancho Herrera. The book is also signed by many great who played against the Phillies. The players include Stan Musial, Willie Mays, Yogi Berra, Enos Slaughter, Tony Perez, Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, Sparky Anderson, Eddie Mathews and Ferguson Jenkins. Many of these signatures are also inscribed with “Whiz Kids” and “1980 World Champs” and designations like “ROY” and “Cy Young”. This is a massive historical reference for the Phillies franchise, signed and acknowledged by many Phillies players and the great who played against them through the years.
