This talented and scrappy club beat the Royals 4 games to 2 as the Phillies claimed the first championship in their 98 year history. The Louisville Slugger Commemorative bat has been signed in blue marker by 32 member of the championship team including Hall of Famers Steve Carlton and Mike Schmidt. The other players are Pete Rose, Greg Luzinski, Tug McGraw, Dallas Green, Larry Bowa, Lonnie Smith, Garry Maddox, Manny Trillo, Del Unser, Ron Reed, Ramon Aviles, Mike Ryan, Bob Boone, Marty Bystrom, George Vukovich, Dick Ruthven, Larry Christenson, Dickie Noles, Warren Brusstar, Ruben Amaro, Bake McBride, Randy Lerch, Bobby Wine, Bob Wack, Kieth Moreland, Henry Starrette, Lee Elia, Greg Gross, Kevin Saucier and John Vukovich.
