This is an extremely attractive limited edition serigraph of an original LeRoy Neiman painting of Ted Williams. The Thumper is tremendously displayed in the midst of his fluid swing, a swing which launched 521 career home runs along with a .345 career batting average. The approximately 22 ½” x 30” serigraph is signed boldly in pencil on the bottom border “Ted Williams” who also inscribed “The Splendid Splinter 1941 - .401” indicating his nickname and his batting average during his greatest season. This print is number 265 of 270 prints, but the inscribed signature was limited to ten copies. This example is number nine, similar to Williams’ uniform number and a very significant factor for collectors. The lower right corner also has the signature of the great artist, signed in pencil “LeRoy Neiman.” This is a tremendous piece, capturing Williams mid swing, signed and inscribed to a limited edition which corresponds to his HOF jersey number.
