Rusty Staub has the distinction of being a star player for no less than five different teams. He’s also fondly remembered as the first bona fide hero of two expansion teams, the Houston Astros of the early 1960’s and later the Montreal Expos. Staub was a fan favorite wherever he played and his hitch in Detroit was no exception. From 1976 to 1979, the years that this bat dates from, Rusty hit .283 and smacked 61 homers for the Tigers. The Adirondack 265B bat shows heavy game use with many stitch impressions, ball marks and scuffs. Bat rack paint streaks can be seen and the handle is coated with pine tar. Staub’s number “10” and bat size “34” is written in red marker on the knob end. PSA/DNA sticker number 1B05318 is affixed to the barrel end. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
