Presented is an 88-card complete set of Topps "Space Cards/Target: Moon" non-sports cards issued in 1958. Man's race to explore the heavens was dramatized in this vividly-hued and fanciful science fiction card collection. The issue begins with an image of Sputnik 1, the Soviet satellite which was, at the time, a symbol of the necessity to hurry along with the space project. The cards then take us through the magical realm of imagined travels, experiences, and perils that humankind could expect to find in the far reaches of the universe. Each of the cards carries a blue "Space Cards" reverse except for #'s 1, 2, 17, 18, 20, 23, 27, 28, 30, 31, 34, 37, 38, 40, 41, 43, 44, 45, 46, 48, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 60, 61, 62, 64, 69, 72, 75, 76, 79, 80, 83 and 86. Grades 24% EX to NM, 61% VG to VG/EX, 15% lesser.
