You’d be hard-pressed to find a rookie year better than Wally Joyner’s 1986 season. The Angels’ kid sensation hit .290 with 22 homers and 100 RBI, was named to the American League All-Star team where he shared the Home Run Derby Award with Darryl Strawberry, broke up two no-hitters with his clutch hitting and succeeded in having Angels fans rename their ballpark “Wally World” in his honor. Joyner’s Louisville Slugger C243 from that incredible rookie season is uncracked and displays heavy use. Cleat impressions and bat rack streaks are present on the barrel as are various ball scuffs and stitch impressions with blue ink transfers. Joyner’s number “21” is written in black marker on the knob. Joyner has signed the barrel in blue marker. Two PSA/DNA numbered stickers (U28087 and 1B05331) are affixed to the barrel end. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
