This game ball was awarded to Raiders Wide Receiver Cliff Branch after scoring the first touchdown of Super Bowl XV against the Philadelphia Eagles. Branch went on to score another touchdown in the Raiders 27-10 victory. Branch signed this football in black and the signature has been pre-certified by PSA/DNA. The long time equipment manager of the raiders, Bob Romanski, viewed the ball and has concluded it is authentic actual TD ball. The laces were tagged with Branch's uniform #21. The application of the stickers, etc. for presentation was done by Romanski's older sister as confirmed by him in an email.
Lot 849 Addendum: The printed catalog states that there is no direct provenance to support this being the actual ball. Since going to print, the equipment manager for the Raiders, Rob Romanski has visually inspected the ball and confirmed it to be the actual TD ball. He states that he knows this because at the time, his older sister would prepare the game balls for presentation and her work his immediately recognizable to him. An email will be provided to the winner from Rob confirming this.
