Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Among more than eighty copies recorded in PSA’s census reporting, just two examples have been placed at a higher, unqualified tier. What is easily one of the most graphic illustrations in the Horrors of War issue, card number 88 ("'Human Hands' Warn Newspaper Publishers") sets the standard for gruesome propaganda. In a way, its content defines the premise of the issue. The object of the product was, after all, to shock and awaken the world through the innocent perspective of young bubblegum consumers, and #88 certainly accomplishes that mission. The viewer's eyes involuntarily widen at this sight of a Chinese newspaper editor's desk covered with randomly strewn, severed human hands. Among today's collectors, #88 ranks alongside numbers 99, 240, and 286 as those forever-memorable cardfront images which uniquely define the legend of the Horrors of War issue. Clean Near Mint to Mint condition.
