Offered here are three handwritten letters from a trio of baseball legends. The first letter is from James “Cool Papa” Bell. Bell writes about Hank Aaron breaking Babe Ruth’s home run record in black marker. Bell has signed the bottom of the letter as “James ‘Cool Papa’ Bell”. The second letter was written by former Commissioner of Baseball Happy Chandler in blue marker. It is dated to July 17th, 1982 and signed as “A.B. Chandler”. The final letter was written by Bobby Thomson, the New York Giants slugger responsible for “The Shot Heard ‘Round the World”. His letter, written in blue pen, refers to an invitation to an Old Timers Day game in 1969. Also included are three unsigned, typed copies of letters regarding Thomson’s correspondence.
