Hall of Fame outfielder and DH Jim Rice used this bat in the 1985 and 1986 season in which he hit a combined .308 and knocked 47 balls out of American League ballparks. In 1986, Rice’s veteran leadership and big bat helped guide the Red Sox to their first World Series since 1975. This offered Cooper C243 model bat displays heavy use with a slight crack in the lower handle. Rice’s number “14” has been hand written on the knob in black marker and there is a light coating of pine tar on the upper handle/lower barrel. Rice signed this bat in bold black marker on the barrel and inscribed “HOF 09”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15629), who have graded this bat a near-perfect GU 9 for the game use and a LOA from JSA for the signature.
