Hall of Fame quarterback and kicker George Blanda was awarded this game ball after leading his Oakland Raiders to a 31-27 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on October 24th, 1971 at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. Blanda led the Raiders on two fourth quarter touchdown drives, ending one with a 17-yard touchdown toss to Marv Hubbard, while Hubbard finished the second, game-winning, drive with a one yard touchdown plunge. Blanda opened the scoring in this game with a 22-yard field goal, and he kicked the extra point after the four Oakland touchdowns.

“Game Ball Given To George Blanda” and “Raiders 31 Bengals 27 10-24-71” are applied to the football in white letters. This football has been signed by more than 20 of Blanda’s teammates, including the Hall of Famers Blanda, Art Shell, and Ron Mix. Other signatures include Raymond Chester, Charlie Smith, George Buehler, Tommy Maxwell, Warren Koegel, Harold Rice, Jerry DePoyster, Bill Enyart, Terry Mendenhall, Paul Seiler, Don Highsmith, Phil Villapiano, Tony Cline, and several others. This football comes with a LOA from the Blanda family and a LOA from JSA for the signatures.
